I’ve settled, says Coach Mumamba Numba
MICHAEL MIYOBA writes @SunZambian ZESCO United FC Coach Mumamba Numba says he has settled and he is enjoying working for the Ndola giants who dominate the MTN/FAZ Super Division with 19-points. Speaking after the team’s last fixture of the  year that saw Zega record a goalless stalemate against Green Eagles in Choma, Numba hailed the Zesco United management for choosing him as George Chicken Lwandamins’s successor. The former Zanaco FC gaffer said he has a soft spot for the eight-time FAZ Super Division champions’ because he was born in Ndola. “I’m settling well I was born in Ndola and I have a soft spot for Zesco and it is God given that they chose me to be in charge of the team I think I’ve settled down and I’m enjoying my work,” Numba said. Meanwhile, Numba described the 0-0 draw in Choma as a fair result despite Zesco United having dominated play. Numba said it has always been difficulty for teams to collect maximum three points in Choma and a draw would motivate his charges going forward. “A draw is a fare result. We controlled the game and we have seen that the team is improving in terms of performance. We came here to try and collect maximum points but we couldn’t do that but a draw is good enough for us away from home, I think it is a motivation for the team,” Numba said. “We have been rotating players due to the congested fixtures. If you look at the ages of the players we have the recovery rate is a bit slow that is why we have been rotating the players to have enough energy levels to play all games.” And Numba said Zesco United will have to improve its striking force when the league resumes after breaking for Christmas. Despite leading the Super Division with a point ahead of second place Buildcon FC who have 18 points, Numba said Zesco United has issues upfront which needs to be worked on.
