‘I DID NOT LOSE 2016 ELECTIONS’
By ADRIAN MWANZA PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has said that he did not lose the 2016 elections to former head of State Edgar Lungu before eventually ascending to the presidency. Mr Hichilema during an interview with the CNN maintained that he did not lose the elections and his votes were stolen hence they strategised to win convincingly to remove any ounce of doubt. He said that even if they officially lost in 2016 they believed they did not do so and did not take office. President Hichilema said they learnt a lesson which they worked on and became vital in the last election which yielded positive results. He said that this paid a lot in 2021 and was not the case in 2016 because they did not consider these aspects as crucial.
