HH SCARED OF PF- MWILA
By GIDEON NYENDWAPRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema’s campaign against the Patriotic Front is an indicator that it still has life and it scares him, PF secretary-general Davis Mwila has said. Mr. Mwila said President Hichilema’s continued campaign against PF was a sign that the party still has life and that he continues to try by all means to paint a bad image about the former ruling party. He said the former ruling party was still strong on the ground as witnessed by the massive support the party was receiving from the areas where they are having by-elections.“That is why he is everyday talking about PF,” Mr. Mwila said. He said the presence of the PF on the ground scares Mr. Hichilema, that was why he had embarked on a mission to soil its image. He said the President keeps mentioning the PF’s rebranding, an indication that it scares him whenever he hears that.Mr. Mwila also said that the UPND government had failed to stop violence by their members. The PF vice president, Mr Given Lubinda was attacked recently by the UPND cadres and he was not the only one. Even the Socialist Party was attacked by the same people. He said Mr. Hichilema should not boast about ending violence when his party was in the forefront attacking other people.Mr. Mwila said once PF elects the new president of the party, things will begin to change and that scares President Hichilema. He said UPND was a one-term government because they had failed to fulfil what they promised and the people are now regretting.“They are going nowhere,” he said. Mr. Mwila said President Hichilema was claiming that his government will not waste public resources but he was seen going round to campaign for a local government by-election, a thing that has never happened in the history of Zambia. “I’ve never seen a president go to campaign for a local government by-election before,” he said.
