HH rigging claims sign of cowardice – Belemu By NOEL IYOMBWA RIGGING claims by Hakainde Hichilema are clearly a sign of cowardice aimed at alarming the nation, Ephraim Belemu has said.Mr Belemu, who is former UPND Mbabala Member of Parliament said that the UPND was trying to gain sympathy from the general public by claiming that the elections would be rigged even before the results were announced.He said in an interview that Mr Hichilema should let the Electoral Commission of Zambia carry out its mandate peacefully and announce the eligible winner of this year’s elections.Mr Belemu said that it was too early for the UPND to start claiming that the elections had been rigged when votes were still being counted.He said it was all cowardice being exhibited by the UPND leader because he had smelt defeat.“To me that is a sign of cowardice and trying to alarm the nation with these claims. Why announcing a wolf which is not there?“Today, I voted with love for Zambia. I voted early together with my wife, Esther, at Crawford School in Chawama,” Mr Belemu said.Mr Hichilema was quoted in some sections of the media as saying that rigging will not work because the country was on the verge of making history of a peaceful transition from one party to another.He alleged that the PF was scheming to rig the election.
