By NATION REPORTERINSPECTOR General of Police has been urged to investigate reports and take appropriate action against UPND president Hakainde Hichilema for allegedly insulting President Edgar Lungu and his late mother at a public rally in Pemba on Friday.Zambia Republican Party has also advised Mr Hichilema to desist from using insulting language against other leaders, especially the President as this could anger and incite Patriotic Front cadres to retaliate.Mr Wright Musoma, the ZRP president said it was foolish for someone of Mr Hichilema’s age to insult another man’s mother, especially one who was long gone.UPND president Hakainde Hichilema on Friday unleashed insults on President Lungu and his late mother by using the Ila derogatory words.Addressing scores of supporters in Pemba, Mr Hichilema said President Lungu caused him to be taken by police and placed him in a cell which was splashed with faeces.Mr Musoma said Mr Hichilema was exhibiting foolish arrogance because he knew that he would lose next year’s elections and wanted to find a way to get arrested.“He knows that he will lose this elections and looking for a way to be arrested. Let him deny if he did not insult the President at the rally in Pemba,” Mr Musoma said.He also challenged the NGOCC, Bishop Telesphore Mpundu, Bishop Chihana and Senior Chief Mukuni among others to come out and condemn this unprovoked barrage of insults directed at the head of state.“If they do not condemn this they should never raise their voices on any issue,” he said.Mr Hichilema said despite the cell being smelly, his spirit did not break because he was suffering for the people of Zambia.He told his supporters that he was being persecuted by President Lungu and his government because of his stance to liberate the people of Zambia from the shackles of poverty.“We have suffered enough, we have been jailed for long, but we don’t retreat because we are doing it to liberate you,” he said.Mr Hichilema who used unpalatable and derogatory language during his whole address, also directed the people in the area not listen to lies by PF and every time they hear someone mentioning “Pabwato” they should respond “Pabwato Panyoko.” He said despite the PF government failing the people, some people were going round telling Zambians to vote for the ruling party.
