HAKAINDE HICHILEMA HIDING HATEMBOS, NAWAKWI INSISTS
By SILUMESI MALUMO and MULENGA MUSONDA FORUM for Democracy and Development (FDD), President Edith Nawakwi, has insisted that UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema is hiding Pheluna and Milton Hatembo at his house and forcing them to issue disparaging statements against her. But UPND spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa has called for the arrest of Ms Nawakwi after a video of the missing Hatembo’s surfaced in which they accused her of threatening them with death. Ms Nawakwi said Mr Hichilema knows that what he did was evil and it might dent his political career, hence hiding them at his place. She said in an interview that Mr Hichilema and his “minions” were now forcing the Hatembos to accuse her of having plans to kill them. Ms Nawakwi said she had nothing to do with the Hatembos but it was Mr Hichilema who had done evil against the innocent family. “See what is happening, they have now captured them in the video saying ill about me. They were being told what to say by Hichilema and his minions who are hiding them. “See how they are looking, so vulnerable. They were pushed against the wall when talking. You can even tell that these people are not in safe hands,” she said. The video has gone viral where the Hatembos were accusing Ms Nawakwi of having threatened to kill them if they did not appeal against a case against Mr Hichilema about the land which he acquired from the family. In the video, they said they were hiding and suffering because they were scared of Ms Nawakwi. But Ms Nawakwi rubbished the claims, saying it was Mr Hichilema who was pushing the agenda of showing that she was evil. Ms Nawakwi appealed to the police to ensure that this matter was expedited and those found wanting arrested.
