Electrician disputes bicycle theft charge
MULENGA MUSONDA writes A 32-YEAR-OLD Electrician has pleaded not guilty in the ChomaSubordinates Court to stealing a bicycle valued at K3,000. Robson Chilundika denied to ever stealing the Bicycle when he appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo. In this matter the electrician is charged with Theft contrary to section 272 of Chapter 87 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that Chilundika stole 1 Bicycle valued at K3,000 the property of Brighton Chilamina. The alleged theft is said to have happened on 25 May 2020 in Chomadistrict of Southern Province. When he appeared for plea before Court, he vehemently disputed having stolen the Bicycle. Court: Do you understand the charge read to you? Chilundika: Yes my lord Court: How do you plead? Chilundika: I deny. Court: I record a plea of not guilty.
