By MICHAEL MIYOBAGREEN Eagles progressed to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round after coming from behind to beat Musongati FC 2-1 win in yesterday’s return leg fixture at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.Liniker Mwikisa and Joseph Kanema scored the crucial two goals as Aggrey Chiyangi’s boys progressed 4-3 on aggregate having held Musangati to a 2-2 stalemate in Burundi exactly a week ago.Mwikisa leveled the scores in the 39th minute after Eric Ndiyeze’s stunning free kick which had given the visitors the lead in the early stages of the game. Eagles then went ahead in the 52nd minute through Kanema who scored with a header as Eagles went on to win to join Nkana and NAPSA Stars who have also secured slots in the second round of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.Meanwhile, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has congratulated the CAF envoys for qualifying to the next round of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said his executive is elated by the progress of the continental envoys despite Forest Rangers falling out after a 2-0 away loss to Bouinguidi of Gabon.Nkana qualified to round one of the CAF Champions League after edging out Bantu FC of Lesotho 1-0 over two legs while Napsa Stars eliminated Comoros side Ngazi FC via a 9-2 aggregate result.After qualifying to the next round of the CAFR Champions League, Nkana will face the winner between Angolan side Petro Athletico and Akonangui of Equatorial Guinea in the first round while Napsa Stars will face UD Songo of Mozambique.And Zambia Sports Fans Association patron Peter Makembo has urged the CAF envoys especially Nkana to find a solution to the goal draught being experienced by the club.Makembo who cheered NAPSA Stars as they bashed Ngazi FC 4-1 to advance 9-2 on aggregate hailed the pensioners for making the country proud by beating the Islanders convincingly.
