DUNDUMWEZI HEADMEN PLEDGE GREEN VOTE
By OLIVER SAMBOKO in Dundumwezi.HEADMEN in Dundumwezi constituency have assured President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front of victory in next year’s general elections. The headmen said the PF Government has shown commitment to develop the area hence the people of Dundumwezi were now willing to work with the ruling party to foster more development. And addressing the over 250 headmen at Chief Chikankata’s palace, PF national mobilisation committee member Bizwell Mutale said the relationship between the ruling party and some parts of Southern Province has not been good but that the ruling party was geared to work with the people to develop the once preserve of the opposition. He said President Lungu and his Government was committed to ensuring that development was brought to the area and that can only be possible if the people of Dundumwezi vote for the PF next year. Mr Mutale observed that for 30 years the people of Southern Province have been committed to the opposition which has led to the region to lack development as the people they were electing from the opposition were refusing to work with the Government of the day.“It’s now time for the people in the region to enter into developmental partnership with the government of the day by voting for the ruling party,” he said.Mr Mutale said because the ruling party has no MPs and councilors in the region, the PF Government, was finding it difficult to bring development to constituencies like Dundumwezi but the ruling party was now looking forward to work with the people in the area.Mr Mutale said Government was committed to bringing development aimed at improving the lives of the people in the region.“With the partnership in place, and the people of Dundumwezi willing to work with the Government of the day, development will surely come to the area,” he said. And speaking on behalf other headmen, senior headman Chibyabusiku called for fair distribution of farmijg imputs under the farmer input support program(FISP).He said while farmers in other areas were receiving seven bags of fertiliser and seeds, farmers in Dundumwezi were only given three each. Headman Chibyabusiku also called on Government to address the challenge of accommodation for Agriculture extension officers.
