WE do not interfere in the operations of the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), neither are we using it to gain popularity, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary-General Davies Mwila has said.
M. Mwila said in an interview that the DMMU was an independent unit that operates within its mandate. He was reacting to allegations from the Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ) that it was abusing the DMMU for political mileage.
Mr Mwila said the PF has no intentions of using the DMMU to win votes in the August 12, 2021 elections because it has already won the hearts of the people through the developments scored since assuming office in 2011. “As the ruling party we don’t intend to use the DMMU to win an election because we have delivered enough to gain the confidence of the electorates in the coming general elections,” he said.
