Daka, Mwepu cheer Chipolopolo fans
MUKWIMA CHILALA writes THE continued consistent good performance by Zambia National Soccer Team Austrian based duo Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu has cheered soccer fans in Zambia. And Chipolopolo soccer fans chairman Yotham Mwanza says the good showing by Daka and Mwepu at their Red Bull Salzburg club in Austria had the potential to raise the profile of the Zambia National Soccer Team higher again. Mwanza noted that the continued good performance could earn the duo a place at bigger leagues in the England Premiere League (EPL) as scouts from around Europe were watching. Mr Chanda welcomed the maize price reduction indicating that this move would help cushion the price of stock feed and help revamp the livestock sector. He further noted that Daka and Mwepu already possessed the potential to break into the English league joining Collins Mbesuma and Emmanuel Mayuka as Zambian players who have graced the league. “It’s good that Patson Daka and Mwepu are playing good football and they are an inspiration to many upcoming young players, so us as soccer fans are happy and this goes to show that with discipline and dedication nothing is impossible. The boys are using that platform to get into bigger leagues in Europe,” Mwanza said. “That as it maybe, we wish them well and hope the scouts are looking because I would want to see the boys at a bigger club like Manchester United, Barcelona or Arsenal.” And Mwanza said that the continued performance by the duo at their club in Austria could help resuscitate the fortunes at the Zambia National Soccer Team which had started poorly in the AfCON qualifiers with two loses. Daka has scored 21 goals for his Salzburg side and is in the run for the golden boot in the league having along with his compatriot Mwepu cemented a first team place in the side. The Sun
