Clergy condemns Social media misuse
KASAMA Pastor’s Fellowship has expressed concern over the continued abuse of social media by users, especially the young people in the country. Speaking to ZANIS in Kasama, District Pastors Fellowship Chairperson, William Mutale said the church is extremely concerned that the continued misuse of social media is causing destructive effects on the lives of many citizens. Pastor Mutale said the church is apprehensive that people with unknown agenda are deliberately using social media to harm the reputation of others.  “The misuse of social media by some sections of society especially those with vested interests to harm the reputation of others is worrisome,”  he said. The clergy noted that even if the platform has enabled citizens to share news and stay abreast with events, it should not be abused. “The Kasama Pastors Fellowship wishes to urge members of the public to desist from abusing social media,” he said. Pastor Mutale has since challenged social media users to heed to government and other stakeholders calls not to abuse the platform but use it responsibly. – ZANIS. The Sun
