Cleaning industry goes digital under Covid-19
BUUMBA CHIMBULU writes ZAMBIA’S cleaning industry has leveraged on technology amidst the outbreak of the Covid-19 with a local company developing an online application to offer services to customers. Melo Cleaning Services trading as Melo Investments Limited, is the first company to develop such as application in Zambia. The app will be available for download on Google Play Store and App Store since it has already been deployed and is currently awaiting approval, says company Chief Executive Officer and Founder, LubindaSinyani. Mr Sinyani explained in an interview that his company was inversely embracing and leveraging on technology to tap the benefits of digital transformation in the world currently. “The company has experienced a steady business expansion to a professional level within the cleaning industry. “It is based on this experience that the company has been able to provide professional cleaning services for both corporate as well as individual needs,” he said. Mr Sinyani said the app will be available for download on Google Play Store and App Store since it has already been deployed and is currently awaiting approval. The company, he explained, offered different services for the vibrant hotel industry in Zambia.  Mr Lubinda stressed that it was through advances and creative inventions that was drastically placing Zambia on the international limelight. Meanwhile, a Communications Consultant based in Kenya, Nicholas Mureithi, said time had come for Africa to rise against the misconception that it was a dark continent plagued with poverty, war and diseases. “From Nairobi, Kenya, we sincerely applaud Lubinda Sinyani and his entire team at the Melo Cleaning Services for setting the pace,” he said.
