Church is a trusted government partner, says clergy
JOHN KOMBE writes The church is a trusted partner to government and stands ready to help contribute in moulding a responsible citizenry, Chongwe west Seventh Day Adventist district pastor, Japhet Fakazi has said. Pastor Fakazi made the observation when he received 100 pockets of cement from area member of parliament Japhen Mwakalombe. The cement was a donation towards a 2, 000 capacity church building project. The clergyman stressed that the Church was better placed to inculcate good morals that help shape a nation. He said that responsible citizens were critical to development and as such this must be enhanced. He also said that it was for this reason that the Church will always be a partner in shaping an ethically sound population.  And Mr. Mwakalombe said that government was committed to ensuring that ethics and morals were enhanced.    He was therefore confident that, the Church would continue to be a faithful partner in social and economic development. He further assured the Church that the PF government shall continue to uphold the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation. He also pledged to support the church throughout the project period. Meanwhile Lusaka Midlands East SDA conference president pastor Abedenigo Ndantoya thanked the MP for the donation and promised that the church would put the donated cement to good use. The Sun
