Police in Chisamba District has arrested a 58 years old man for defiling a 12 years old girl.
Central Province Commissioner of Police, Chola Katanga told ZANIS in Kabwe that Binwell Mwape, a driver at 22 miles was reported at Chisamba Turn off Police by the victim’s parents.
Mr Katanga said the incident occurred last Sunday around 14:00 hours at the house of the suspect.
The Police Chief added that it is alleged that the accused person had canal knowledge with the minor on two occasions.
“The accused asked the girl to get a bucket of water from his house and draw water for him and while she was in the house, the defiler followed her and forcibly dragged her by the right hand and undressed her and had canal knowledge of her,” he said. Mr Katanga explained that after a tip from reliable sources, the relatives of the minor with the help of the Community Crime Prevention Unity (CCPU) went to the accused person’s house where he was caught in the act.
