Chinsali MP empowers women, youths
THE SUN REPORTER  writes TWO women groups and one youth group in Chinsali have received four goats each as empowerment from area Member of Parliament (MP), Kasalwe Mukosa. The total number of goats given to the three groups are 12 and are valued at K4,800. Mr. Mukosa disclosed the development in an interview in Chinsaliyesterday. He said that beneficiary groups were the youth group in Masandikoand women groups in Chandamali and Kafulamusungu, respectively.  Mr Mukosa MP said the animals would be passed on to other youth and women groups once they multiply.  He said it was not everyone who could get a job as MP so those who were privileged should assist those who did not have.  The MP added that the empowerment was an interim intervention as he was waiting for more programmes to be rolled out by Government. Mr Mukosa said he was aware that livestock and fish farming empowerment programmes would soon be rolled out by the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. “I advise the beneficiaries not to eat the goats but keep them so that the numbers can grow so that others can also benefit,” Mr Mukosa said.
