LACK of respect for the traditional leadership by the United Party for National Development (UPND) is disappointing and uncalled for, Chief Mpepo of Kanchibiya has said.
Chief Mpepo said it was unfortunate that members of the opposition political party had continued to disrespect the traditional leadership whenever they were in the area by failing to pay courtesy calls on the traditional leadership.
He wondered how the opposition political party would work with the chiefs in the area should they win the election. He was speaking in an interview.
“The running mate for the opposition political party Mutale Nalumango was here for a couple of days and as usual I just heard of her presence from afar.
“I am personally disappointed with this kind of behaviour especially that Ms Nalumango is one of the people from this land and knows what needs to be done whenever the person is visiting the chiefdoms,” he said.
