CHIEF CHITIMUKULU CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT-ELECT
By NATION REPORTER Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba has congratulated President elect Hakainde Hichilema for emerging as Zambia’s seventh republican President. Paramount Chief Chitimukulu said the people have shown that they want to work with Mr Hichilema as indicated by the number of votes. The traditional leader who quoted a Bible verse from Roman 13 explained that leadership comes from God and urged all to welcome the leadership of Mr Hichilema. “God has chosen him as our leader therefore let us work with him,” he said The traditional leader has resolved that the Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) will work with the government of the day which will be under the United Party for National Development (UPND) so as to foster development in the province. He has since advised people in the province to work with President elect Mr Hichilema and his government. Paramount Chief Chitimukulu has also condemned the violent activities being initiated in some parts of the country. “ We understand that you are celebrating but desist from damaging property  and engaging in violence as it is retrogressive to the country’s development” he said Chief Chitimukulu has since called on Zambians to uphold peace and unity regardless of their political affiliations.
