CHIBOOLA GETS 12 MONTHS FOR THEFT
By Mulenga Musonda The Choma Magistrates Court has sentenced a 42 years old man who was found red-handed in the house of a 19 years old boy with the loot of clothes stuffed in a bag about to flee. In this matter Knowledge Chiboola stood charged with Housebreaking and Theft contrary to the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that Chiboola broke into the house of Twaambo Pata Pata with intent to commit a felony therein and did steal a travelling Bag, two pairs of  trousers, 2 T-shirts, 1 Vest, a bottle of Glycerine among other items valued at K539,  the property of  Pata Pata. The break-in happened on May 15, 2021 in Choma district after the complainant left his house to run some errands with his father. When the matter came up for plea before Principal Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo, the accused person willingly admitted to breaking into the juvenile’s house with intent to steal. According to the facts dictated by Senior Public Prosecutor Alex Syulikwa, Chiboola was found red-handed in Pata Pata’s house by a Bernard Kamiji with all the stolen items in his bag about to leave the scene. He was apprehended and taken to Police where he admitted to breaking into the house with the intention to steal. Despite pleading for leniency and saying he acted foolishly, Magistrate Mupemo sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour.
