In a statement, Ms Katongo said the bodies had been taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary and investigations had continued.  Ms Katongo said so far they had two suspects in police custody.   On May 24, three Chinese nationals were brutally murdered by their workers after a dispute. It is reported that there was a dispute between the Zambian workers of the warehouse and the Chinese owners who confronted some of their workers on the issue of stolen money and items within the warehouse. In retaliation, the workers allegedly killed and burnt the wife of the warehouse owner along with a young Chinese couple that worked in the same warehouse. Confirming the incident, Police public relations, Esther Katongo said Police in Lusaka received a report of a fire at the warehouse from a member of the public. Ms Katongo told the Sun, in a statement, that when Police rushed to the scene together with the fire brigade and whilst there, it was discovered that owners of the warehouses were not at the scene of fire and a further inquiry led to a search of their houses located behind the warehouses. “Police spotted blood stains on the floor right from the entrance and a machete with blood stains was also found inside the house on the floor near the bed. A burnt body of a female Chinese national namely Hu New Cao, aged 52, has been retrieved from the inferno. A search for other two remaining Chinese Nationals has continued,” Ms Katongo said. The Sun
