By PETER SICHALI POLITICAL activist Brebnar Changala should apologise to Vice President Inonge Wina for disrespecting her and demeaning her office by referring to her as a “disgrace,” PF national chairperson for women, Jean Kapata has said. Ms Kapata said it was un-Zambian and unacceptable for an elderly stateswoman like Ms Wina to be insulted by the likes of Mr Changala. She said Mr Changala owed Ms Wina and the Zambian women an apology for his “careless” utterances. “Mr Changala must appreciate that Ms Wina is the Vice President of the Republic and deserves respect from all of us as a woman and as a leader,” Ms Kapata said. She said the PF women’s league would not entertain anyone disrespecting the Vice President. Ms Kapata has since appealed to NGOCC and other women organisations to condemn Mr Changala for the demeaning words. “It is surprising to note how NGOCC and other women have remained quiet on this matter,” Ms Kapata said. And Ms Kapata said contrary to Mr Changala, it was not the responsibility of the Vice President to fight corruption because there were already established institutions responsible for that. She said the PF Government had demonstrated commitment to fight corruption by giving ACC independence to investigate anyone accused of graft. “There are institutions that are mandated to fight corruption therefore calling the Vice President names is totally unacceptable and we will not accept that,” Ms Kapata said. Ms Kapata said Ms Wina has performed extremely well in discharging her duties as Vice President.
