300 ditch UPND for PF
By Mulenga Musonda The United Party for National Development has crumbled in Central Province after 300 of its members and other political parties defected to the ruling Patriotic Front Party citing good leadership qualities by President Edgar Lungu. In receiving the defectors in Mwembeshi Constituency of Shibuyunji district,  Patriotic Front aspiring candidate Kelvin Toloko for the same constituency said come 2021 the PF will win the general elections with a landslide victory. “These people you are seeing here are from the opposition party, and after realising that they were wasting time in the UPND or whatever party they were in, they decided to join the mighty Patriotic Front because of the good leadership   of President Edgar Lungu,” he said Mr Toloko, who was accompanied by Namwala PF District chairperson Kelvin Chikwata to drum up support in the area said people should not waste time with parties with no proper direction for the country  because the PF has shown that it can deliver and people are able to point at what the party has done. And one of the defectors from the Movement  Multi – Party Democracy (MMD) Allan Buunda said Shibuyunji district has received a lot of developmental projects from the time President Lungu came into Office. He said the President has good leadership qualities which some opposition presidents do not have and as such he decided to join the PF as it is the only viable and attractive party to take the nation forward.
