Musonda writes@sunzambianThe Choma Magistrates Court has entered a plea of not guilty in a matter in which three villagers have been dragged to Court on accusations of stealing Goats.In this matter, Lweendo Hamilandu , 24, Mathews Mwiinde , 30, and Kerold Munkombwe , 21, are charged with Stock Theft contrary to sections 275 (1) and 272 of the penal code of Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that the three, jointly and whilst acting together stole three Goats valued at K1, 600 the property of Jerry Mweemba.The alleged thefts are said to have occurred on October 24, in Choma district of Southern Province.When they appeared for plea before Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri, all the three vehemently denied the charge against them compelling the Court to record a plea of not guilty.Following a plea of not guilty, the matter was adjourned to November 19, for trial after Senior Public Prosecutor Alex Syulikwa applied for an adjournment in order to prepare witnesses.
