ZNS clinician’s reconciliation bid with hubby fails

MULENGA MUSONDA writes@sunzambianA SEEMINGLY scared 29 years old Zambia National Service soldier told the Choma Local Court that he deserted his matrimonial home because of the threats he constantly received from his wife.Jasper Mulela was defending himself in the matter in which his 32 years old Clinical Officer Wife Kutemba Kamawe stationed at Choma General Hospital had dragged him to Court seeking reconciliation.According to Kamawe’s testimony when the matter proceeded into hearing after her husband vehemently refused to reconcile, the two got married in 2017 and have one child.The Clinician stated that problems in their marriage started in September 2019 when her husband was sent to work from Kasumba Lesa Border Post. This was after the two had built a house together which she later discovered that it was in her husband’s name alone.She said upon confronting him as to why the plot was in his name, he came back from Kasumba Lesa, packed his clothes and moved into a rented house without her knowledge.Despite her plea before Court that she still loved her husband and wanted him back, Mulela told the Court in his defense that all he wanted was to divorce his wife because of the threats he has been receiving from her.He said even at the time that he was working from the Border, she would threaten him and ask that he takes her back to her family.In passing the ruling Magistrates Felix Kangwa sitting with Magistrate Luyando Siachitema dismissed the case and asked either party to sue for divorce.
