ZAF donates Christmas gifts to vulnerable
KALOBWE BWALYA writes @SunZambian ZAF will continue to restore hope to those who have lost hope especially in young life, Zambia Airforce (ZAF) acting air force commander major General Benedict Kalinda  has said. Gen. Kalinda said Christmas time comes with the spirit of sharing love and giving gifts to people especially those who were less privileged in society. Speaking when he donated Christmas gifts to St. Lawrence Home of Hope orphanage in Lusaka yesterday, Gen Kalinda said ZAF had made it a tradition to give light to the underprivileged in so many ways such as giving out gifts among other things. Gen. Kalinda however disclosed that St. Lawrence Home of Hope Orphanage has been in existence since 1998 and it was looking after 100 children aged from six to 19 years and all were males. Gen Kalinda, however urged the children to always give respect to their caregivers and not to involve themselves in any illicit activity behaviors such drug and alcohol abuse as they were the future leaders. He said he was aware that the St Lawrence Home of Hope children facility operates as an emergency for children who are victims of social ills. He said although there were some challenges in bringing up children, ZAF would ensure that it gives out to the less privileged people in society by the way of celebrating charismas with them. Among the donated items comprise food stuffs and cleaning materials for cleaning the environment clean especially now that COVID-19 pandemic was still on pick. ” ZAF will ensure that it gives out a  little to share with people who are less privileged in society especially in young children and I urge you to keep away from abuse such as drugs and alcohol so that you become responsible citizens,” he said. And St. Lawrence Home of Hope orphanage director Brother Jacek Rakoswki thanked ZAF for the gesture shown during this Christmas period and assured that the donation would go a long way in helping the orphanage run smoothly.
