Mulenga Musonda writes@sunzambianA 20 years old woman has appeared in the Choma Fast Track Court for Gender Based Violence for allegedly stabbing her husband following marital dispute.Getrude Shimunzhila of Choma’s Zambia Township appeared before Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri charged with Unlawful Wounding contrary to the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that Shimunzhila unlawfully wounded her husband Lawrence Siabunde.The incident is said to have happened on November 1, and a knife is alleged to have been used in the lurid crime.When she appeared for plea before Court, Shimunzhila strongly denied the allegations levelled against her compelling the Court to record a plea of not guilty.Court: Have you understood the charge?Shimunzhila: Yes.Court: Do you admit or deny?Shimunzhila: I deny the charge.Court: I record a plea of not guilty.After a plea of not guilty was entered, the matter was adjourned to November 19 for trial after Public Prosecutor Pearson Chilumbu asked for time to prepare his witnesses.Shimunzhila is on police bond.
