The defectors, largely in absentia as a way of complying with the COVID-19 public health guidelines being enforced by Ministry of Health and the Zambia Police, were received by PF Member of the Central Committee Hon Joseph Malanji. Meanwhile, area UPND Chairperson Charles Nyoka, who led the defectors to the PF, said his former party is now incapacitated in the district. And Chairman Nyoka said his defection has been necessitated by notable developments that His Excellency, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has initiated in Vubwi.. The former District Chairperson denounced his efforts to continue campaigning against the PF in Vubwi stating that he cannot oppose development. Meanwhile, Vubwi constituency PF aspiring Candidate Ackleo Banda has termed the defection of 750 UPND and 40 MMD members to the PF as reassuring of victory for the ruling party.
