UPND’s Clement Andeleki challenged
By ANDREW MUKOMA THE Democratic Party (DP) leadership in Livingstone has challenged UPND’s Katombora parliamentary aspiring candidate Clement Andeleki to clearly state his loyalty to the party he wanted to deregister when he was Chief Registrar of Societies. Mr Andeleki who came out the favourite for adoption beating the incumbent MP, Mr Derrick Livune, has applied to be adopted on the UPND ticket. But DP Livingstone district coordinator, Shadreck Sinzala, doubted Mr Andeleki’s loyalty to the UPND which he attempted to deregister. Mr Sinzala has asked Mr Andeleki to clarify what has prompted him to join the party he at one point wanted to deregister. But the Mr Andeleki has explained that, at no time did he want to deregister the UPND. He said the party that was to be deregistered was the former ruling party MMD and not the UPND. He said that the MMD was to be deregistered for failing to settle an outstanding K490 million un-rebased owed in statutory fees. Mr Andeleki said people should not take his deeds personal as he was working within his duties and added that UPND had continued to oblige in settling statutory fees for its branches around the country.
