UPND KILLINGS RITUAL- KAMBWILI
..opposition party accused of sacrificing lives to get to State House By ADRIAN MWANZA THE insatiable appetite for blood and human life in the UPND is related to ritual killings in a desperate quest for the opposition party to win the August 12 elections, says a PF member, Mr Chishimba Kambwili. Mr Kambwili said UPND members were acting like serial or ritual killers who were sacrificing people for them to come out victorious in the coming elections. He said that the killing of two PF members in Kanyama and one in Chilenje was not human and that it was not normal for individuals to hack someone in the manner they did. He said that he suspected that the UPND members were practicing ritual killings because the cruelty was beyond human comprehension. “I have seen acts of political violence and what I saw in Kanyama was not normal. How can someone be hacked in such a manner and people think it’s normal,” he asked. Mr Kambwili said that he was sure that the killings were ritually motivated and that they wanted to spill blood because of the elections. He said he was hoping that the Facebook comment attributed to the UPND president, Mr Hakainde Hichilema was fake because he was supposed to denounce the violence that happened with impunity. Mr Kambwili said the words linked to Mr Hichilema left much to be desired and prayed that he could become magnanimous and denounce violence by his cadres. He said for a long time the ECZ had been warned of the violent traits portrayed by the UPND and that it now had escalated into the death of two individuals. Mr Kambwili called on the police not to relent and bring all the culprits to book because the extent of the cruelty was too heinous in Zambia. “I want to appeal to the police to ensure that all the culprits are dealt with accordingly for killing innocent individuals like animals all in the name of winning an election,” he said. He said Zambians should be careful because the opposition party members were violent without the instruments of power and could be worse if they were given power. “Imagine they are this violent when in the opposition what do you think is going to happen when they are in power it’s going to be total anarchy,” Mr Kambwili said. And ZANIS reports that PF member of the Central Committee, Brian Mundubile has condemned the violence that led to the death of two members of the party.  Mr. Mundubile said such barbaric behaviour must be condemned in the strongest terms. He said it is sad that lives could be lost in such a manner, adding that no elective position is worth human blood.  “It is unacceptable that human life could be lost in that manner. No seat is worth blood. This cannot be condoned,” said Mr. Mundubile Mr. Mundubile, who is also PF Mporokoso parliamentary candidate, has challenged opposition party leaders to emulate President Edgar Lungu who has strongly condemned violence. He noted that the peace agreement that was signed by the political parties will not be meaningful, if leaders do not take responsibility to curb violence.
