UPND HAS HIT DEAD END – MONDE
By KETRA KALUNGA THE United Party for National Development (UPND) is getting to a dead end and time is its worst enemy, says one of its former members, Mr Greyford Monde. Mr Monde said it was mere hallucination for the UPND to think that it would form Government after the August 12 general elections. He said in an interview that the UPND was in serious panic because time has run out with only less than four months before the polls. “The UPND are dreaming, hallucinating that they are now going to win the elections and I think time is their worst enemy,” he said. Mr Monde, the former Fisheries and Livestock Minister, said the UPND despite being the largest opposition political party was too disorganised to win the coming elections. He said this was evidenced by the confusion that has rocked the adoption process of the Members of Parliament. Mr Monde said the opposition party was still grappling with corruption-riddled adoption process and the resultant violence among members. “There was a lot of money exchanging hands during the UPND adoption process and we saw this, it was everywhere even if they have refuted,” he said.
