UPND demands peace in Lukashya polls
By STEPHEN MWEWA THE UPND has called on all political parties competing in the Lukashya constituency by-election in Kasama to sell their manifestoes in- stead of engaging in character assassination. According to the UPND, parties and their candidates should explain to the electorate the kind of development they would introduce once voted into office. UPND Northern Province chairperson, Nathan Ilunga, said all participating parties must desist from political violence so that people of Lukashya could vote for a rightful candidate of their choice without being intimidated. He said the electorate would want to vote in a peaceful atmosphere for candidates, who could deliver tangible development. Lukashya parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Independent Member of Parliament Mwenya Munkonge last month.
