Two in court for burglary
Mulenga Musonda writes @SunZambian Two Casual Workers of Lusaka Telecoms Company have appeared before the Choma Magistrates Court on accusations of burglary and looting household goods. Ernest Muntange ,26, and Greenstone Mwale ,20, all of Choma’s Zambia Township are jointly charged with one count of Burglary and Theft contrary to the Laws of Zambia. Allegations are that the two, jointly and whilst acting together broke and entered the house of Clause Muchindu and stole 1 Radio Cassette, 1 T-Shirt, 1 Car Battery, K300 cash among other items all valued at K2,630. The alleged burglary occurred between the night of   December 25 and 26 in Choma district. The two pleaded not guilty when the matter was called for plea before Principal Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo. Mwale in denying the allegation told the Court that he did not understand why he was arrested as he was just a witness when his alleged accomplice was buying the t-shirt. Magistrate Mupemo entered pleas of not guilty and allowed the adjournment application to January 6 for trial by public prosecutor Catherine Sakala. The two were remanded in custody.
