MULENGA MUSONDA writes@SunZambianTHE Choma Magistrates Court has found a female Depot Assistant for Tiger Animal Feeds with a case to answer in a matter she is accused of stealing over 785×50KG bags of Stock Feed valued at over K250,000.In this matter Donoria Chamango , 28, a Depot Assistant and resident of Choma’s Shampande Township is charged with Theft by Servant contrary to the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that Chamanago stole 786 ×50kg Bags of Stock Feed valued at K254, 287 the property of her employer Tiger Animal Feed Limited.The thefts are said to have occurred between August 26 and September 25, 2020 in Choma district where she is stationed.When the matter came up for trial before Court, Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri found the accused person with a case to answer after she felt satisfied that the State through Public Prosecutor Coillard Sikwalulwa had proved a prima Facie case against Chamango.The Court arrived at its ruling after the arresting Officer Detective Inspector Moonga Chizyuka testified that during his investigations the accused person stated that she had sold 300 bags on credit.He went on to say that when he insisted that she avails him with the Creditors list, she failed.But in cross examination when asked by the defense Counsel Ernest Chilufya from Legal Aid Board as to whether selling on credit is termed as theft, the arresting officer answered in the negative.The matter was adjourned to November 9 for defence.Chamango’s Bail was extended.
