By FLAVIOR KANUNGO THE Electoral Commission of Zambia says it is so far satisfied with the engagement has had with stakeholders concerning the electoral road map. Some sections of society have often accused the electoral commission of Zambia of making lone electoral decisions without the input of stakeholders. But ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga explained that an indaba is not only meant to iron out issues but also to share information and get the views of the stakeholders. “An indaba is not only meant to iron out issues but it is part of the strategy that the commission uses to engage with various stakeholders to share information and views,” she said. Ms Luhanga is confident that stakeholders have been engaged on various platforms, stating that the calendar shared with the general public is a clear electoral road map. She said the commission will continue to engage the stakeholders in the run up to the August 12 general election as and when need arise. Meanwhile Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba says ECZ has so far done enough to engage political parties on various issues. Mr Sinkamba has however asked ECZ to give guidance and clarity on how political party supporters will be presented for nominations at provincial level owing to covid19.
