Siwale questions FAZ provincial chair mandate
MUKWIMA CHILALA writes BLACKWELL Siwale says that the six Provincial chairman that petitioned the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) against holding and Emergency General Meeting had no mandate to do so. The Former FAZ executive committee member said that the Association already had an executive committee whose mandate has been extended by FIFA. Siwale has questioned whether the provincial chairmen had consulted their members in their respective provinces. He says the actions of the provincial officials will further fuel disputes amongst football stakeholders that have questioned the current administration at Football House. “The six are were borne out of the same contentious election which has been called flawed,” Siwale said, “Who gave them the mandate to petition the General Secretary?” Siwale notes that it would be tragic to for the provincial chairmen to continue discussing the issue of the EGM as doing so would be chaotic. FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala recently met with the provincial chairs who recommended that an EGM should not be called. The officials are Patrick Ndhlovu (Copperbelt), Crispin Kamuna (Eastern), Mweemba Mujala (Luapula), David Simwinga (Western), Mwansa Kapyanga (Northern) and Arthur Kamulosu (North Western).
