SANFROSSA MANYINDA writes THREE out of the nine people that disappeared after testing Covid-19 positive at Chisokone market in Kitwe have been traced. However, it has been discovered that the nine were not traders at the market as none of them appeared in the market registers. The nine were alleged to have disappeared and switched off their mobile phones as the Ministry of Health made efforts to trace them. Association of Vendors and Marketeers (AVEMA) president Abel Chikwa told The Sun that three out of the nine were successfully traced as the search continued for the other Six. “One was discovered to have gone to Mbala after being contacted while the other two are within Kitwe. I can confirm that these people are not traders but were people that just passed through the market at the time of mass screening,” Mr Chikwa said. Mr Kanganja said that the bicycles would enable the officers respond to complaints in areas that were difficult to access by use of motor vehicles Mr Chikwa advised all traders in the market to continue adhering to the health guidelines such as social distancing, wearing of masks and maintaining personal hygiene all the time.
