President Lungu buys Mpongwe school bus
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has handed over a higher bus to Mpongwe Boarding Secondary School to assist the institution with transport.The President who visited the school on 20 August this year, pledged to help the school with a bus which pupils re-questedZANIS reports that the bus was handed over to the school by Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe in Mpongwe on Wednesday.“The president has bought the bus with his own resources and has given you pupils to use to reduce your transport challenges” he said.And Mr. Sikazwe says government has used the money it borrowed to improve infrastructure across the country.Mr Sikazwe said loan facilities that government acquired have been used for the intended purposes.He stated that Patriotic Front government inherited a poor infrastructure economy which necessitated governments’ acquisition of loan facilities.Mr Sikazwe has further assured that President Edgar Lungu means well for the country.Mr Sikazwe was speaking during the handover of a bus worth 1.4 million Kwacha that the Head of State procured for Mpongwe boarding secondary school on behalf of President Edgar Lungu.Meanwhile, Copperbelt Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe said President Edgar Lungu had shown leadership by procuring a bus for the school using his personal resources.He assured that the bus would be put to good use and will benefit the pupils at the school in various ways.School head teacher Webby Chishimba thanked President Edgar Lungu stating that the act was a sign of goodwill by the head of state.He said the bus will ease the various operational and administrative challenges that the school was facing.And PTA chairperson George Nsali said the school had serious challenges with carrying out school projects.
