PF, UPND urge members to verify voter’s details
By ANDREW MUKOMA THE Patriotic Front (PF) and the UPND have called on the electorate in Southern Province to verify their details with the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) within the given period. The two parties separately urged their members to get to their respective centres for voter verification. UPND Southern Provincel Information and Publicity Secretary, Neto Halwabala, urged the electorate to visit their respective polling stations and verify details on their voter’s cards. Mr Halwabala said that no one should miss the opportunity because it was a life-saving jacket for the country, which he said had sunk into poverty under the PF leadership. “August 12, 2021, general election should not be taken lightly, the vote for our Hakainde Hichilema and UPND is a gateway to good governance and economic recovery. We urge all the registered voters to go to their respective polling stations to verify their details on voter’s register which commenced on 29th March 2021 and closing on 2nd April 2021,” Mr Halwabala said. On the other hand, PF Livingstone aspiring candidate, Ikuka Muleta, observed that the physical voter verification was an important undertaking. Mr Muleta said therefore, that, one of the most important documents this time around was the voter’s card. He urged the electorate to also ensure that their national registration cards were intact in readiness for voting in August this year. “I therefore want to take this opportunity to encourage all those that did not verify during the online exercise to take advantage of this process and verify their details at their respective centres where they are voting from,” he said.
