PF TELLS UPND TO STOP PANICKING OVER SHOOTING INVESTIGATIONS
Patriotic Front-PF deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri has questioned why the United Party for National Development-UPND is panicking over the ongoing investigations in the killings of two people last week during a procession by UPND members. And Ms. Phiri has called on the UPND to respect and adhere to the rule of law. She says the ruling party has noted with amazement the levels of panic and name dropping that has engulfed the UPND to the extent of party secretary general Mr. Stephen Katuka issuing conflicting statements. Ms. Phiri says in his statement, Mr. Katuka accused President Edgar Lungu of questioning why UPND cadres escorted their leader to the police when the president categorically used the word “citizens’. She also says politicians must use their own biological children as frontline political activists and not other people’s children who end up getting injured or killed at the expense of selfish politicians. But UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma says the opposition party has no reason to panic adding that it is the ruling PF which should panic as the killings happened under their watch. Mr. Kakoma says the opposition party cannot be panicking when it is also grieving with Zambians for the loss of lives at the hands of police.
