NUNDWE WARNS VIOLENT POLITICIANS
By SANFROSSA MANYINDA VIOLENT politicians will not be allowed to come into the Copperbelt during the campaign period, provincial Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe has warned. Mr Nundwe maintained that Government would not allow politicians with ill intentions to cause confusion in the province. He said the Copperbelt was critical to the country’s economy hence the need to ensure that security was tight at all times. Mr Nundwe was speaking in Kitwe yesterday. “I will not allow enemies of peace to make the province vulnerable by bringing confusion under the guise of campaigning. “Only politicians with a developmental agenda will be allowed in the province and there will be no negotiations about it,” he said. Mr Nundwe said any person that thought of crossing to the province should take with them the agendas that would benefit the nation and not the other way round. He said President Edgar Lungu had always given a firm directive of campaigning without violence across the country and wondered why others would want to defy it. Mr Nundwe further warned that those who would be found perpetuating violence in the province would be visited by the law.
