Nsefu receives more relief
SIMON MUNTEMBA writes FLOOD victims of senior Chief Nsefu’s area in Mambwe district have received another relief consignment from Government. Recently, Government distributed, tents, food and other essentials to the flood victims. Mambwe District Commissioner, Carolyn Mwanza who confirmed the development said the consignment of food relief was delivered by Minister in the Office of the Vice President, Olipa Phiri at the weekend. Ms Mwanza thanked government for its continued support during and after the floods, adding that people in the district have continuously received relief support since the floods occurred. “We than government for its continued support during and after the floods to the people of Mambwe who were affected by floods. We were privileged again to receive another consignment of food relief which was delivered at Kawaza Primary School by Minister in the Office of the Vice President, Olipa Phiri,” Ms Mwanza said. The district commissioner said her office would continue being a mouthpiece for the people and the link between government and them. Over 300 families have been affected by floods in Malambo while over 60 families have been affected by floods in Lumezi district.The floods have also seen Nsefu ward being cut-off from the rest of Mambwe district after the Masumba-Nsefu road was washed away.
