By MICHAEL MIYOBAAFTER watching his team being humiliated by Green Buffaloes following a 5-0 drubbing at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, Nkana FC Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya has left the Zambian champions.Chakatazya, whose contract as Nkana FC CEO was not renewed said today would be the last day he would serve as the club’s CEO after his appointment expired.In a letter obtained by the Daily Nation, Chakatazya said he had continued to serve as Nkana CEO despite his contract having expired to handover to his successor.“Despite expiration of my contract, I continued to execute my duties. This was to allow for a smooth handover to the new CEO.“I have not received notification on the appointment of my successor. Please note that my last working day is Friday the 20th of November 2020. Kindly notify the Football Association of Zambia, so they can inform CAF and other relevant stakeholders,” read the letter accessed by the Daily Nation.Chakatazya was elevated from team manager to Chief Executive Officer in 2018 when he took over from long -serving secretary Ken Mwansa.Meanwhile, Nkana FC supporters club have rejected the soccer fan who attacked coach Manfred Chabinga on Wednesday at Nkoloma Stadium.Nkana FC supporters club national chairman Emmanuel Zulu said the soccer fan who caused ugly scenes and attacked Chabinga is not a registered supporter.Zulu, who issued an apology to Chabinga said genuine fans will always protect and engage the team’s technical bench using the right procedures.
