Netball teams warned
MATHEWS NDANDULA writes NETBALL Zambia (NZ) president Martha Sichone has said no team or players must be seen training during this period of covid-19 until the authorities give a go ahead. She said those who want to train can do so individually at their homes not going on the court as such will mean going against the guidelines set by health officials. In an interview Mrs Sichone said players or teams must not even try to go and train in the bush to hide themselves from the Media all they need to do is to wait for authorities to clear the way.  “Let this message be clear as Netball Zambia we are saying no team or players is allowed to train currently until the authorities gives us a go ahead, to all our clubs get this message clear don’t go against the health guidelines corona virus is real,” she said. When asked as to when the league is likely to resume, the NZ boss said the Midlands Netball Association (MINA) was supposed to resume activities but they are yet to give a report on how far they have gone in terms of ensuring adherence to health guidelines.  She adds that one of the conditions that must be followed is that players and officials must test negative to Covid-19 at least 48hours before each game is played. The newly elected president also said the fresh executive is set to meet on 30 August 2020 to discuss the road map of the association as each executive member has been given time to plan and table those ideas when they meet this month-end.
