SANFROSSA MANYINDA writes@sunzambianWATER blues have hit the northern part of Ndola for almost a week now.The residents have since appealed to Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company (KWSC) to address the crisis.Minsundu, Northrise, Chifubu, Pamodzi, Mitengo, Kanini, Chipulukusu, Hillcrest, Kansenshi, Dola Hill, Twapia are the most affected areas.“It is unacceptable going for seven days without water especially that we are already in the rainy season. And surprising enough, Kafubu water has not engaged us on the matter,” lamented one resident.Speaking on behalf of the affected residents, George Bwalya of Northrise said people had now resorted to drawing water from shallow wells.Mr Bwalya said the situation was a bad one as shallow wells were breeding grounds for bacteria that caused di-arrhea and other diseases.Mr Bwalya added that the affected communities were now hesitant to use their flushable lavatoriesKafubu water attributed the erratic supply of water to technical power challenges currently affecting its Minsun-du one and Minsundu two water treatment plants.
