By CHARLES MUSONDAA WITNESS has testified that Mwamona Engineering Technical Services Limited was not tax compliant as there were a number of outstanding returns that the company had not submitted at the time of extraction.The witness has also told Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile that the company had a number of outstanding payments.Mr Joseph Nonde, a director of budgeting at the Ministry of Finance on secondment and former design, monitoring and commissioning director at Zambia Revenue Authority, said this yesterday when he testified in a case National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Chishimba Kambwili is charged with others for allegedly making a false tax clearance certificate used to obtain construction contracts from Zesco and China Henan among the 37 counts he is facing.He is charged with his son Mwamba, two Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) officers Brano Musonda Lukwesa, and Mulenga Kapilima; and Mwamona Engineering and Technical Services Limited are facing other charges of possessing more than K6 million suspected to be proceeds of crime, obtaining pecuniary advantage, and uttering a false document.
