MULENGA MUSONDA writes@SunZambianTHE Choma Magistrates Court has committed a 28 years old Man who is alleged to have killed a Peasant Farmer in cold blood.In this matter Taurai Mweetwa has been appearing for mentions before Court charged with murder contrary to section 200 of the Penal Code of Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that Mweetwa murdered Sunny Simwami.The alleged lurid incident is said to have occurred on February 2 , 2020 in Choma district of Southern Province.When he appeared for mention before Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri, the State through Senior Public Prosecutor Charles Chinzai informed the Court that instructions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions had been received to have the matter tried in the High Court.After receiving the Committal Certificates, Magistrate Phiri committed the accused person to the High Court for trial henceforth.Mweetwa was remanded in custody and will appear before the High Court for trial at its next sitting.
