MORE UPND MEMBERS FLOCKING TO PF ON THE COPPERBELT, SAYS NG’AMBI
By SANFROSSA MANYINDA UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) members are crossing camp because they have not achieved anything after being in the opposition for almost 10 years, PF Copperbelt Presidential campaign manager Frank Ng’ambi has said. Dr Ng’ambi observed that the defections were also an indication that the ruling party had intensifying its work on the ground. He said the defectors felt that the ruling party had also addressed the issues of former miners which had been successfully carried out in phases. Dr Ng’ambi was speaking when over 1,000 UPND members defected to the ruling party in Luanshya. “The party has also addressed the issues that are vital to people’s lives such as a proper road network which the PF Government has improved to international standard countrywide. “The defectors are happy that government has improved the water reticulation system in the area and people are enjoying clean piped water at the door steps,” he said. Dr Ng’ambi said the people were happy to see the improvement of school and market infrastructures which they had not seen before. He said Zambians realised that President Lungu was the only candidate that could deliver beyond expectation. He noted that the President Lungu had been tried and tested and had delivered beyond expectation over the six years of being President.
