PETER MALASHA writes  MKUSHI police have discovered a fetus in the female bathroom cell suspected to have been dumped by a female detainee. Central province police commissioner Chola Katanga confirmed the suspected abortion in an interview with The Sun. Mr. Katanga said the incident happened between 30 May at 16:45hrs and 4 June at 08:45hrs. Mr. Katanga said the fetus was suspected to have been dumped by suspect Memory Mwansa of unknown address who was released on June 2. Mr. Katanga said the fetus was discovered by the female suspect Mary Mutale who was currently detained in police custody for the offence of criminal trespass when she entered the bathroom. Mr. Katanga said the fetus has since been deposited in Mkushi district hospital mortuary. Mr. Katanga said the matter was still being investigated and no arrest has been made. “I can confirm that the fetus was discovered in the female cell bathroom. “We are still investigating the matter and no arrest has been made yet,” Mr. Katanga said.
