NOEL IYOMBWA writes POLICE in Choma have picked up a body of 31-year-old man who was reported missing. Police spokesperson Esther Katongo confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Ndaala Chinyemba who was initially reported missing under unknown circumstances by his father. She said that the body was later discovered on 29th April 2020 at about 15:45 hours in Sibanyati area in Chief Cooma of Choma District in one of the fields. Ms Katongo stated that police who visited the scene found the body in a semi-decomposed state and it is suspected that the victim was dragged 20 metres off Sibanyati – Siachitema road, into the bush and was robbed of his motorbike valued at K13,000 and a company Samsung phone valued at K3,000 bringing the total value of property stolen to K16,000.  She said that the body is in the mortuary awaiting postmortem and that investigations have been instituted.  Meanwhile, a 6-year-old male juvenile has died after an ox-  cart drawn by oxen on which he was on hit into a log and overturned. Ms Katongo said that the incident happened on 28 April, 2020 at about 15:00 hours at Sipulila Village, Chief Mapanza, Choma District and was reported to police on 29th April,  2020. “Aboard the ox-cart were three male juveniles aged five and six years. The accident happened when the animals went astray and in the process the ox -cart hit into a log and overturned upside down, landing on the head of one of the occupants identified as Prosper Mudenda aged six years of Sipulila village in Choma District.  “The victim died on the spot while the other two escaped unhurt. The body of the deceased has been buried and the grave has been marked,” she said. The Sun
