RABECCA BANDA writes Trial in a matter where a Lusaka based mechanic was dragged to court for allegedly stealing car parts worth K50, 000 from his client’s vehicle has failed to commence. This was when the matter come up for trial before magistrate Betty Malupenga. Particulars of the offence were that Cliff Simbule, 50, of ChilenjeTownship is alleged to have stolen car parts from ChrisantosChangwereza’s car between 16 July 2019 and November 13 2019. The vehicle was entrusted to Simbule for repairs. Simbule is accused of stealing one motor vehicle maffira, a computer box, key set, radiator, number plate, saddle, inside black grill, burner heat cooler and other parts all worth K50, 000 A lawyer Mr. Apripa Malando from Legal aid board standing in for Mr. Innocent Muluwa said he was not ready to proceed with trial today as he had just taken over the matter. Mr. Malanda said the matter was allocated to his colleague Mr.Muluwaand asked the court for time to prepare for trial.
